Synopsis
Emma, an 18-year-old spirited and courageous young woman, has just dropped out of college and is about to leave for Paris with her close friend Natasha to pursue her artistic dreams.
However, a chance meeting with Lin Kai at a bus stop changes the course of her life completely.
Despite objections from her family and friends, Emma remains steadfast in her support for Lin Kai, standing by him through numerous challenges.
She even uses an old printer to help him finish his thesis, as they endure the constant struggles of hunger and the looming threat of death.
A decade later, as World War II comes to an end, Lin Kai returns to China, and they lose touch.
Emma, holding onto the hope that he will return for her, waits faithfully for Lin Kai in Göttingen for the rest of her life.
